An Entry File is the term we use to describe a temporary account that you can use to upload, caption and submit your photos into the competitions.
The only requirement is a valid e-mail address. This e-mail address will be used as your primary method of contact, useful should you win. Feel free to take a look at our privacy policy. To create your own Entry File, just fill in the Create my free online Entry File form.
When you first create your Entry File you will receive an e-mail giving you details with which to log in, and begin uploading.
We do not provide an option for you to create your own password, instead they are automatically generated. Passwords will last for up to 7 days, after which your Entry File will be classed as inactive, and the password will no longer work. When you are logged in you have the option to generate a new password and in-turn refresh this 7 day limit, if you need to.
We provide a convenience 'auto-login' link in the e-mail we send you, this bypasses the need for you to manually log in, but does so at some expense to security. If you choose to use this service, just be aware that your web browser will probably keep the link in its history, and this could be accessed by other people, at least for the 7 days until the password expires.
If you forget your login details, or allow your password to expire and wish to be sent a new one, just fill in the Create my free online Entry File form again, you will be e-mailed for confirmation to regenerate your password.
Though we do not automatically delete photographs and data when Entry Files are inactive, we may do so in cases where they appear to have been abandoned.
There is a maximum file-size limit of 1MB for images that are uploaded online. Also, if you upload an image that is of a higher resolution than 1024 pixels, it will be resized to fit within 1024×1024 pixels.
We will contact you for the highest quality/size copies of any photos you enter that are shortlisted for a book.
We do strongly favour images that appear not to have been radically manipulated with photo-editing software, but it is your choice what to enter.
